Hi! I’m Susie Shields, and I bring you a very special course based on my unique experience as both an interviewer and an English teacher.
For 7 years, I interviewed hundreds of non-native English speakers in my role as a Hiring Manager. My experience as Head of Studies at a prestigious adult language academy also means I am highly skilled at teaching English.
With this unique blend of expertise, I know exactly what works in interviews, and how to help you succeed as a non-native English speaker.
I first became passionate about English job interviews when I saw many candidates struggling, and realized I was in a unique position to help.
That’s why in 2021 I began specialising in English job interview preparation through my own project, Talktips. I started offering private mentoring sessions and I created my first course, helping over 400 candidates prepare confidently for their interviews in English.
The world has changed a lot since then, including job interviews. That’s why I decided to update the course for 2026. I’m proud to offer a modern learning experience packed with high-quality resources and practical guidance. I’m allergic to boring, traditional learning, so you won’t find any tacky powerpoints here!

MOST COMMON DOUBTS
Do I need a minimum level of English?
Do I need to do the course AND private sessions?
No, it’s not necessary. The course is full of excellent guidance to prepare you for your interview.
If you want extra practice and personalised feedback from a specialist, then the private sessions are recommended.
How many hours is the course?
SESSIONS
How long is a Session?
1 hour and 20 minutes per session.
The session is structured to best take advantage of your English training. A 10 minute warm up, 1 hour of focused practice, and 10 minutes at the end to make sure you understand your feedback perfectly and can solve any other doubts you might have. The perfect formula!
When are the sessions?
After you sign up, we’ll be in touch to schedule sessions at times that suit you. It’s flexible and adapted to your needs.
Who gives the private sessions?
Your English trainer, Susie Shields.
Where do we meet for our session?
On Zoom.
How soon can I do a session?
We’ll schedule your session as quickly as possible so you can start practicing and building confidence right away. Please note that sessions expire after 6 months.
How often should we meet for a session?
That is your choice. You can do all 3 sessions in a few days if your interview is soon, or spread them over a few weeks if you have more time to prepare.
What if I need more sessions?
It’s easy to add more sessions! Just speak to Susie and we can organise the best practice plan for you.
